As the technology in our cars continues to advance, so do the products we use to protect them. From traditional carnauba waxes to paint sealers to hybrid ceramic graphene car wax, the protection we are able to provide to cars has grown exponentially, allowing our cars to withstand harsher environmental conditions while still maintaining a flawless finish. Now, that trend continues with the introduction of graphene: the most powerful compound known to science.
What is graphene car wax?
Imagine a material that is 200 times stronger than steel but much more flexible than rubber or steel. In its pure form, it is so thin that just 1-3 grams of graphene is enough to make a sheet that can cover three football fields! When this polymer is enriched with ceramic and carnauba wax, it forms a protective layer we’ve never seen before, with unprecedented strength, durability, and an unbelievably stunning luster!
In this guide, we’ll take a closer look at what makes diagrams so special, and why you should consider diagramming solutions in your next detailing session!
Because graphene is such a tough substance, one-atom-thick graphene is transparent and needed to provide the protection any ceramic or even paint sealant can. Once graphene is separated into individual flakes, it can form nearly invisible layers on the surface of a car, creating an extremely dense protective mesh. Graphene sheets tend to stick to themselves and other protective polymers. So, as soon as the solvent in the car wax begins to evaporate, these polymers and graphene bind together and bond with the exterior surface of the car, creating a denser, more durable protective cover on the molecules.
The result is a spectacular, long-lasting wax with increased strength, thermal conductivity and chemical resistance. Not only is graphene less prone to streaks and water spots, but it dissipates solar heat more efficiently than ceramic or traditional carnauba wax to avoid hot spots on vehicle paint. These properties are a dramatic improvement over existing automotive wax formulations, bringing a more advanced level of protection than previous ceramic frontiers.
Because less UV rays penetrate your paint, the color depth and shine of your vehicle will stay fresh months before you need your first touch-up. And because graphene is such a small substance, we can combine it with ceramic and carnauba wax to get the combined benefits of both. Now you can enjoy the hydrophobicity of ceramic, the amazing luster of carnauba wax, and the enhanced durability of graphene, all in one incredible formula!

What about oxides?
Now that you know the benefits of graphene, you can’t wait to get your hands on a graphene spray wax. But not all graphene solutions are created equal. Some waxes contain graphene oxide, while others contain real graphene. The difference between the two is much bigger than you might think. Graphene oxide does not possess all the chemical and desirable properties of graphene.
Graphene oxide added directly to the car wax solution causes the graphene oxide to separate from the rest of the formulation and settle to the bottom of the mixture. So if you buy a car wax that contains graphene oxide, the label will advise you to shake the bottle before applying the product to your car to try to disperse these oxides more evenly.
However, the presence of graphene oxide in car wax can create a black liquid, similar to the color of a pencil lead, which can stain your towel and make the surface less transparent. The protective layer left behind is far less uniform than a real graphene-rich car wax solution, nor does it yield the same flawless showroom quality. Therefore, it’s important to read product labels to make sure you’re getting the right ingredients.
Our Turtle Wax graphene solutions, like the Hybrid Solutions PRO Flex Wax, are designed using a special, patent-pending process called Pure Stabilization. This process allowed us to separate the real graphene into individual flakes and keep them in suspension, preventing our car wax solution from separating in the bottle. The result is a smooth, transparent, even finish that gives you professional results every time.
